Welcome
Colour and mark making are combined through varied means to create seemingly abstract paintings. However there is an element of landscape iconography within the work that alludes to the memory of place or experience.
Elements, both geometric and organic, sharp edge and smudged are placed on a flat coloured ground, using mixed media and paint-handling processes such as stencilling, squeegeeing and printing. Though appearing almost random each mark is carefully considered and through the juxtaposition of the disparate components there is a sense of pushing and pulling the viewer between the mark and ground, the contained and uncontained, the static and the fluid.
